Fundraising can be tough job, but it can also be a great way to meet people and spread the word about a great organization like Vermont CARES. All the money raised goes directly back into Vermont CARES' client services, so the more money raised the better! We are always happy when fundraisers exceed the minumum and have a stash of great prizes to reward the top fundraising individual and team!

Helpful fundraising hints:

• If you are fundraising, the minimum fundraising goal is $150. Although this may seem like a lot, you can break it down easily. Ask potential donors for reasonable amounts; $10 or $20, and you'll be there in no time!
• If you've created a fundraising page at www.firstgiving.com/vermontcares as your method of collecting donations, check out these suggestions for raising money online!

If you prefer not to ask for donations try some of these options:

• Have a bake sale
• Create a donation container to put at a your local convenience store or bike shop
• Decorate your bike and ride everywhere! Self promote! Make sure everyone knows what you'll be doing
• Create a change jar for everyone to put loose change in
• Remind people that they can sponsor you on your voicemail message
• Change your email signature to something about your fundraising efforts
• Charge people $5 to sign the jersey or shirt you'll wear in the ride

• Create red AIDS ribbons and sell them for $1
