Since 2002, Vermont CARES' Syringe Exchange Program has been operating out of our St. Johnsbury, VT office. Through this program we dispose of thousands of used needles each year, provide clean needles to participants and facilitate effective linkages to treatment, testing and medical care. Vermont CARES is proud to be a part of a progressive network of needle exchange programs throughout the country who believe a harm reduction approach in one of the best ways to help prevent future HIV infections.
