Our syringe exchange program is free and anonymous. Check out the steps below to find out how to become a syringe exchange participant!
1. Come to our office during walk in hours on Wednesdays from 11am-1pm. Other times available by appointment only by calling 802-748-9061.
2. Create a Unique ID. We ask you three questions to assist us in creating your Unique ID number.
What are the first three letters of your mothers first name?
What is the day of the month of your birth?
What is your middle initial?
3. Receive a Syringe Exchange Program ID Card. This card contains the Unique ID # and the wording is the Vermont law regarding needle exchange programs.
4. Issue a start up kit (maximum of 100 needles). The number of syringes in your start up kit is determined by a quick self assessment about how many needles you use in a specific time period and how often you will be able to travel to the exchange.
